Toro y Triquetra depict an overlaid bull (a Spanish national symbol) and triquetra ( a Celtic symbol). It represents the ovelap of Celtic and Spanish identity that make up the Galician identity.

The colors in this artwork are achieved through optical physics and material science. The artwork is backlit with white light built into a picture frame. This light is passed through a linear polarizing filter that blocks all light except the waves going in a certain direction. These light waves then travel through transparent materials (like certain plastics) and are rotated by different amounts depending on the wavelength of light. These are then passed through another set of linear polarizers that can be found in polarized sunglasses or 3D movie glasses. Then, colors are revealed where there would normally be a plain white screen!

This artwork pairs nicely with Rodaspecs, allowing for a unique interactive experience where each eye sees a different color of the artwork. It also allows for an easier experience of changing the viewing angle, making the viewer an even more active component of the optical system.
